“ One With The Void ” is a portrayal of a painful death, through which Numento , a Finnish progressive melodeath band, briefly returns to their earlier musical roots.  The story behind the song draws inspiration from a particularly sinister and fascinating natural phenomenon: the fungus Ophiocordyceps unilateralis, better known as the zombie-ant fungus, which infects carpenter ants.
