Diabolic Formation is the forthcoming album from Doomsters 'Pale Horse Ritual' and Bog had a fun time with this album. Doom cat dancing in the bogs and generally throwing mud water around whilst partaking in my daily bathing ritual. One thing Bog would like to comment on is the album cover above. It sets the feel and tone of the album, and is a definite homage to the classic old school horror and early wave of heavy metal from those eras, thus resonates a cinematic aesthetic with the fonts used for the band's name and album title. Bog feels this is a good way to draw in the listeners, it's like the opening credits for a movie and has the audience expecting and anticipating. Musically, Diabolic Formation is an enjoyable listen that certainly could be built upon further with future releases. Battle Inside is the new single from metal/hard rock crossover band ' Rugged Butcher '. The riffs are very strong and sonically speaking its traditional heavy metal with a hard rock injection. Combination of both, but leans towards the traditional heavy metal side with rock riffs. Production and audio levels are clean, and the drumming tones are especially solid. Bog could hear each hit and tempo change, and they synced well with the lead riffs. Bog wasn't crazy about the vocal style, but they present the lyrics for the listener and convey the theme.  There is also a good solo towards the later part of the track. The mixing and layering are tight.  It is cleanly recorded music and complements both genres. Bog's! Here's one to wake up the tribes! 1. Repulsion , the title track, opens with a whispering narration, then a sick af intro and chain-gun riffing. Good mid-powerboat circle-pit speed for riding around the muck seas. Vocals are clean and harsh; comfortable transitions and the unity between the band is evident.  Solid riffs and drums to encourage Bogs to swing and bang their heads.   The outro is a nice fade-out to take us into Hell Hath No Fury . 2. Hell Hath No Fury - We arrive at the first banger on the album, Bogs! This slays. Direct to the point with a heavy crossover vibe. A brief slow down halfway through, not too lengthy with the breakdown, then drops back to maintain the circle-pit-worthy flow. Bog knows dropping this in the Bog Club would make the room go off!   Stenchers, normally Bog would scribe much more and break the music down deeper sequencing drops, builds, transitions, and more, but there have been problems with storms and moisture in the Bog Lands, so it's wading through spew from the swamps before we can return to the selector lens. 1. Path to the Void - There is a good musical harmony structured around the riffs, which add to the atmosphere with a dark, cinematic tone. At 3:12 , the track flows a little rawer, with the riffing changing to match the transition. What is apparent already to Bog's muck ears is the time that Theosophy have taken ensuring the EQs are balanced, the vocals and instruments sync, and it is another example of music crafted to an excellent standard to catch the ear.
