DEAD SLEEP (THRASH, REVIEW) - REPULSION EP (RELEASED JUNE 26)

Bog's! Here's one to wake up the tribes!

1. Repulsion, the title track, opens with a whispering narration, then a sick af intro and chain-gun riffing.

Good mid-powerboat circle-pit speed for riding around the muck seas. Vocals are clean and harsh; comfortable transitions and the unity between the band is evident.

Solid riffs and drums to encourage Bogs to swing and bang their heads.

The outro is a nice fade-out to take us into Hell Hath No Fury.

2. Hell Hath No Fury - We arrive at the first banger on the album, Bogs! This slays. Direct to the point with a heavy crossover vibe. A brief slow down halfway through, not too lengthy with the breakdown, then drops back to maintain the circle-pit-worthy flow. Bog knows dropping this in the Bog Club would make the room go off!

Riffs are nasty as taking a p-i-s-s after holding it for 6 hours; it burns and rips through.

3. Children of The Blade - If you thought Hell Hath No Fury was the banger, nah my Bog, this bangs on the bangs! Complete, utter get the f up and pit like a fiend. No slow, speed!!!!

First big drop to start comes in at 0:08 seconds. The vocal drop follows an audio sample of an object rattling. The following riff drop is pure excellence for making a crowd pop off.

Bog would drop it on the riff to make the crowd go insane, especially when the solo flows in before the head-banging riffing, which transitions to fast af mosh stomps.

Quite a crusty, punk-ish feel with the vocals, the cleaner side with a lil harsh, but good backing vocals to support the chorus drop 'Children of The Blade'. Signature riffing and solos, excellent raw-ass thrash.

The sonic energy is on fire just like Bog's shitty-ass dinner, but Bog is too busy swinging and spinning in the muck.

F-*-c-k- yeah, the outro! A vocal line with the word 'Blade' works and flows well, and takes out the track excellently without just cutting off. Bogs jump up! The video is below, when you hear it, you will realize, Bogs.

4. Leech From Čachtice - Another banger, and it is a genre blending track with traditional heavy metal riffing straight from Ted's denim warehouse.

The build, intro, and guitar drop in the flow, step up the excitement, and moves into thrash for bouncing around, then returns to the signature traditional heavy metal riffing. Another fire track.

Vocals display another element here, moving between the harsh and clean, but also bringing a traditional heavy metal vibe at certain moments to go with the riffs.

There is a good solo riff breakdown that drops back to thrash. No-nonsense approach with Dead Sleep, Bog says: 'Step up Bogs to the riffs!'

The frequencies are good on this track, and Bog appreciated the pitch and tones.

5. Bring Me The Head - Strong riff tones, changes up with pace, vocals are fierce, and the drop on and off with the pace is smooth.

Bog appreciated the guitarist's approach, and it adds a digestible flow that makes the listener thirst for more.

Bog could hear the punk/dis influences on Bring Me The Head, which add stenchy dirt and are sickly wonderful!

Some ears may miss it, but it is there if you listen in.

Bog's thoughts: Bog was very stimulated whilst listening to Dead Sleep, which resulted in a commentary about the effects of high sonic energy music.

Repulsion slays; it's high energy, offers a lot musically with the riffs, vocals, drums, and switching between the pace is mega fun and enjoyable to hear.

The intros and outros across the tracks are super sick at building and ending the flow consistently. There are many drop moments that would just amp up a crowd so much.

Super solid EP and it is so much fun!
