LECHEROUS NOCTURNE ARE BACK W/ 'FISSION' (SINGLE REVIEW, RELEASED MAY 6TH, DEATH METAL/BLACKENED DEATH)

Here’s a joint for y’all if you ever wanted to stop, stand up, sit down, then stand up again and say “shit man, this bangs and sounds like a gunship unleashed”, well Lecherous Nocturne are that band, and are back with new music.

13 second introduction, which is a short build into the coming ferocious riffs and drumming blasting like an autocannon strapped onto the side a Bog chopper. Spraying forth carnage and spitting out destruction everywhere. This is a marching anthem for the Bog legions, damn, strap in for this Bogs!

It’s windmill time, really is one of those where you just swing the head around and bang hard af. Bog would happily pass out to Fission from over exertion. Wise strategy dropping this single, grabs the attention with a relentless pounding, if no one knows of the band, it would be one to draw in new listeners and welcome back existing fans. There is no in between, its embrace the monstrosity or f off to listen to golf’s greatest commentary hits.

Angry ass raging vocals accompany the opening riffs after the short introduction. It’s like a line of Orcs stood in a legion unified in mosh war roars. I’ve never fucking made a cup of Bog Moss so amped up before. Whilst pouring the boiling swamp water, I was like, “yeah, get in that shit cup!”, the moss also felt my wrath as I stirred it around.

The riff style is raw, blackened, and flows excellently with the aggressive death metal portion that is smashing open the ears to say ‘listen you wax ridden walking sewer.’ The production has taken steps to maintain the raw rage found in harsher styles of Black Metal and uncompromising Brutal Death. The pace doesn’t really let up, which is like a superbike hitting top speed and never slowing down.

Drumming structure is intense, blistering, angry. Guitars and riffs follow the same pattern, the vocals also run in cohesion to do the same. A triple prong approach like big fat ass trucks smashing into each other. Obvious effort behind the scenes has ensured consideration was given to timing to deliver a carefully co-ordinated airstrike of mosh bombs. Vocals don’t run ahead, everything feels like it’s been stitched together carefully to say hey we’re back and here it is, laid out for the listener to fully understand what Lecherous Nocturne are about.

Lyrically, the horrors of nuclear war, or a tragic accident with a reactor, or any number of post apoc scenarios. Vocals to deliver those nightmares for clearly, the music is mosh af, so it can be easy to overlook those points, but Bog wanted to hear whatever was there within the single, then relay the experience back. Bog writes how the music makes them feel, and what can be heard with the instruments, vocals, and what not, which hopefully presents y’all with some real sewage unfiltered talk. Music can be cinematic, especially for those with visual minds, and Fission doesn’t disappoint. The intro sets the scene, the outro with the radiation spike sound effect is the only slowdown in the whole track, but behaves like a close to a scene in a series, movie, or a novel ending the chapter.

It's different, appealing, and holds the listener. It's why Bog likes the writing and structure Lecherous Nocturne have used for Fission, and they did something outside of the usual. Extreme music can be just as nasty and heavy with other themes too. Ever wanted a sick af Fallout/Mad Max ish anthem?, then it's here. Extreme metal listeners will warmly gravitate to Lecherous Nocturne just like how Bog moves towards stenchy muck holes to do some bathing.

Spoiler, Bog thinks this is going to be the opening for a forth coming album? What a way to make a statement and say, ‘ok you beasts, it’s time to be strapped to a tank and drive it forward off a big fuck off cliff to make a splash in a pool to soak all those nearby.’

Rating: There is no doubt Fission took hold of Bog’s ears and refused to let go. That said, the single should be an actual hearing test played loud, louder than Bog’s belching to make sure you hear the intensity in full. A complete deliverance of chain gun war mosh fired from a tank, or gunship with the speed of a superbike. No frills, this really does it, the music and vocals speak for themselves. Included the video so you can hear it and experience the same feelings Bog had. Total bastard stellar!
