BEAUTIFUL FREAKIN' WEIRDO: ZAP THE FEAR (INDUSTRIAL METAL, RELEASED INDEPENDENTLY 08/08/25, REVIEW)

Beautiful Freakin' Weirdo released Zap The Fear a few months ago and is an Industrial Metal offering featuring 3 high octane tracks through a lyrical, and musical journey about real world hell and the psychological connection to it.

I am Fire has an upbeat rhythm with a consistent pace designed to keep people on the dance floor. It's kind of a mix between Static X with Rob Zombie with a slow acid techno hook coming around 2 minutes in. The vocals deliver the chorus effectively with a catchy riff serving as the signature for the song along with a fast paced beat for the drums with fairly high BPM.

Psychohead continues on from the fast opening to maintain the pace and not allow people to leave the dancefloor. The drums are particularly good on this track, and support the guitars and vocals nicely. Vocals again deliver the lyrics and their message clear with a chorus for fans to sing along, or shout out on the dance floor. Pyschohead is definitely more on the metal side compared to I am Fire and there is a small, small punk influence that can be heard slightly in the background, which keen listeners will notice. Not sure if this was intentional, or just some other influences coming through.

Sideswipe is another fast paced track following in the vein of the whole EP and finishes Zap The Fear strongly for Beautiful Freakin' Weirdo. Instrumentation is strong, timing on point, vocals convey the artist's message with another easy to sing along chorus, which should be appealing for the fans.

Bog would hazard a guess Beautiful Freakin' Weirdo deliver a memorable live show from the energy contained within Zap The Fear

Closing: The style played is accessible and serves as a good gateway to Industrial Metal, or for those interested in hearing different genres of music combining to present a different sound. Zap The Fear is well played and has very good production. The influences are obvious and clear, which aren't really Bog's tastes, but for fans of mainstream metal, Nu Metal, Industrial Nu Metal, and bands such as Rammstein, Static X, etc, etc, then Zap The Fear ticks all the boxes, and should wet your appetite nicely.
