TOTAL INVASION - INVASION ZONE (BRUTAL DEATH METAL/SLAM, REVIEW, RELEASED 01/23/23, BRUTAL MIND)

Originally posted around early Jan 2023, before release. Updated for the Bog.

Bog needed a piss when they down to do the muck scribe up for Total Invasion. It became clear, real quick, that Bog would be pissing their pants in seconds. This is testament to the chuggy ass grimy sick riffs that sound like something conjured from the bog depths. Bog remembers once writing a short recollection about the teachings of The Great Sweaty, a big beast living in the sewers hording his collection of death metal albums. In our Bog folklore, he would sit looking up at the surface world with malice, then his words were 'Soon you will tremble and realize the power of my butt stench, when I return to destroy your shitty golf society pop music'.

Invasion Zone contains a level of undiluted muck. It’s a very heavy mosh centric EP designed to encourage mosh waltzing. The breakdowns are nice, the riffs are powerful butt shattering anthems, the vocals flow with the music nicely, and its packaged well together. Bog has a feeling the guys are going to go on strength to strength.

It's really good mosh music, which is slapped down like something on a grill and laid out for the listener to savior whilst the mosh cooks.

Bog enjoyed all the tracks from the EP, so it was tough to pick a favorite. Bog did like the infusion of NYHC, which they could hear coming through the sound. Might be something some folks miss, but it's there if you listen closely, and it gave weight to the riffs. Very enjoyable EP, if you want straight up brutality.

Verdict: Pummelling punishment.

Line-up:

Ryan Jones - Vocals

John Sepa - Guitar/Bass

Sam Schereck - Drums

Michael Dimmitt - Live Bass
