Bay Area progressive metal outfit Baby On A Rampage has released a music video for their new single "Failure of One's Name." The track is the second single from their upcoming EP Forgive My Figure, scheduled for release on 12 November 2026. The EP was co-produced by Scott Proctor.
Ash Lee states: "This is easily our most musically and melodically developed release so far. We’ve moved beyond the more straightforward metal influences of our earlier material and embraced a sound that is both more dynamic and more melodic. The songs still hit with dark, aggressive, and heavy verses, but they open up into massive, vocal-driven choruses packed with layers, harmonies, and emotion. We’ve put a lot of attention into the details, creating what I like to call a lot of 'ear candy' throughout the record. While our last album explored a wide range of styles and directions, this EP feels more cohesive. Each song has its own identity, but they all belong to the same musical world. It feels like we've finally locked into who we are as a band and found a stronger sense of our own sound."
Lyra Renninger adds: "Failure of One's Name is a song inspired by my personal experience as a trans woman and coming to terms with my identity. For so long, it existed as a piece of me that lived in the dark, only manifesting when I felt thoroughly concealed. It represents the darkest moments that shaped who I am and those that led me onto the path towards healing."
Ash Lee further explains: "For me, this song is about finding yourself after a big loss of that sense of self. When my uncle died, I felt like I had lost a huge chunk of who I was. The song is about trying to figure out how to find yourself and feel whole again, realizing that ultimately you have to discover your true self from within."
