(MUCK POOL NEWS) SHORES OF NULL – NEW ALBUM & MUSIC VIDEO RELEASE (MELODIC DEATH-DOOM)

Italian melodic death-doom outfit Shores Of Null has released their new full-length album, Homesick, via Dusktone. The album features guest appearances from Natalie Koskinen (Shape Of Despair) and Shaun MacGowan (My Dying Bride). To mark the release, the band has also launched a music video for the track "The Numbing Void."

Davide Straccione comments:

"Homesick is probably the most honest representation of who Shores Of Null are today. Behind this record lies a meticulous amount of writing, rewriting, and pre-production work, to the point that entire sections and arrangements were completely reworked whenever we felt the songs demanded it. At its core lies the idea of home as something deeply ambiguous: a place of comfort and belonging, but also of fear, pain, and memories we can never fully leave behind.

The album explores that tension between attraction and repulsion, nostalgia and trauma, asking what home really means when it can be both a sanctuary and a curse. Musically, it may be our heaviest record in places, but it also contains some of the strongest melodies we've ever written."

Straccione adds regarding the single:

"The Numbing Void features guest vocals by Natalie Koskinen of Shape Of Despair and, in many ways, feels like a spiritual successor to Beyond The Shores. Lyrically, it explores grief, mortality, and the helplessness that often follows the loss of someone close to us, along with the regret that so often comes with realizing there was never as much time as we thought there would be,"

The band states:

“The Numbing Void” is out now, and this video is a little different from the others. It’s made of fragments of our life as a band over the past year: the long days in the studio, the time spent with Shaun MacGowan and Natalie Koskinen, the endless drives through the snow, the incredible places we’ve been lucky enough to see, the tours, the festivals, the crowds.

It’s our way of summing up what making Homesick has meant to us, and we wanted to share it with you on the day the album comes out. Because, in the end, none of this would exist without the people who listen, who travel, who show up. We hope you like it. Thank you, truly,"
