Finnish heavy metal outfit Demonessa is rising from the crypts to drop a lethal new two-song single, "Taste of Blood" (+ bonus track), launching straight into the wild on October 31 . Culled from the same writing sessions as their debut full-length Wild 'N' Loud , these darker tracks were held back specifically to serve as a horror-themed offensive for Halloween. As an added slaughter, the release features a streamlined bonus version of "Till Death Do Us Part," completely stripping the minute-long acoustic intro to get straight to the heavy meat of the song. Following the departure of Jones Tervas, a new machine with steel calves known as Jerry Iron has hopped onto the heavy metal drum kit stool, delivering a thunderous backbone performance. Berlin-based atmospheric post-metal outfit Katre has officially joined the Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records roster. Formed in 2014, the band is known for building records around heavy conceptual narratives, combining dense dynamics with sprawling post-rock textures. The signing is inaugurated by the immediate release of "Gaia," the first single from Katre's upcoming third full-length album, Natura . The single arrives alongside a brand-new official video tracing the track's cinematic progression. Finnish one-man dark folk project Nobody is gearing up to unleash a brand new EP, The Birds Know , on November 12 via Inverse Records . Mastermind Tuomas Kauppinen is shifting the acoustic architecture this time around, bringing in Eliel Norkola-Smith to lay down heavy bass strings across the first three tracks of the release. Kauppinen delivered a direct transmission regarding the thematic weight behind the music: "This is dedicated to all the xenophobes: the ones who hate and fear those who look different, act different, or speak differently. It is also an homage to Mali and the ancient Mandinka kingdom whose musicians appropriated the instruments of the gods and introduced them to mankind." SoCal brutal death metal outfit VIROLOGIST is dropping their debut full-length, Subjugation of Anthropoid Forms , on November 13 via the sickness specialists at New Standard Elite . Formed in 2023 as the project of then 17-year-old mastermind Emrys Mellinger, this album is a 27-minute barrage of completely unhinged, barely controlled audio violence. Mainstays Mellinger, Ethan Shadman (drums), and Daniel Esquivel (vocals) reunited with bassist Sam Little to construct a record that proudly bears its underground influences while completely shredding the modern brutal death metal scene. They’ve unleashed a direct 1-shot single, "Opium-Induced Extrasensory Entrancement," featuring guest vocal decay from Ayato Yabuki (Gyakuki). Yeah , Stenchers! Amp up in the swamps! Rock It The build, then the first drop slays so hard, and it's still slapping  my muck cheeks off my face. It is instant, motivating, hard-banging, sick-beat s-h-i-t , and you know what to do. F-*-c-k it up! Aggressive hard beats, with a sick AF breakdown before the next drop to obliterate. The vox sample works perfectly, along with the repeat of it. It bangs through mountains! Bog's head was going in a frantic,  non-stop headbang, and he was throwing fire sticks to the tribes. Wave them! My Energy Bog didn't feel it as much, as the breakdown took some of the intensity away, but it's not a bad boom. MØR, Timo Revna - Real Life Pretty sick, mid-hard techno pace feels.
