(BOG REVIEW) - BOXGUTS & DJ AKOZA (DARK LO-FI, HARDCORE HIP HOP, UNDERGROUND HIP HOP, RELEASED MAY)


Ultra-grimy, gutter, dirty, dark lo-fi, and industrial-ish beats, but not every track hit home for Bog. Some of the bars didn't do the music service compared to the other joints.
Bog really didn't like Track 2, "Subterranean," right from the opening bars and verses. The general flow is fine, but it's the main chorus that is repeated, and it is difficult to listen to. The beats and production are fine, but the track is dragged down by the above component we are describing.
4. Clocksmith – Very mellow. Musically, Bog wasn't crazy about this joint, and he sadly is feeling like the MCs don't complement the production and beat-making.
6. Chattering Phantoms – Features some parts to emphasize the bars. Bog gets it, because it's to emphasize 'Phantoms' in reference to the title, "Chattering Phantoms," but after hearing it a few times, it does start to grate on the ears, sadly.
Metal Head Space is a short EP, so Bog has listed the tracks that do stand out and are the absolute bangers. The production is on point and the dark lo-fi beats are straight out of the gutter. Slow beat tempos, but it's menacing.

3. Cyborg's Revenge – Best track on the EP and is outright dark fire. The beats are nasty and are straight outta a dystopian city block.

5. MechaGutzilla – Then here for the next best.

Bog's Thoughts: Bog still isn't crazy about the MCs on Metal Head Space. They can flow, their breath control is fine, and their bars are solid, but Bog just didn't like their style, or some of the brief outlined sections on the tracks he didn't feel, or the lyrics in some parts.
It doesn't do the beats and production justice. "Cyborg's Revenge" is the best track, then "Jagged Jaws," and "MechaGutzilla."
The positives: The beats, production, and lo-fi, dirty, industrial grime in the audio completely overshadow the MCs. If they do another release, something more like Track 3, Cyborg's Revenge, would be no doubt fire and very hook-heavy to keep people in for the journey.

Bog was due to write about Blood Handsome later on the schedule, but it was moved forward to feature something different from other underground music. DYSENTERY - DEJECTION CHRYSALIS (BRUTAL DEATH/SLAM, REVIEW, RELEASED NOV 7TH, COMATOSE MUSIC)

Introduction Ten years have passed since ‘Fragments’ was released and Dysentery have returned with forthcoming album ‘Dejection Chrysalis’ , which is due for release through Comatose Music on November 7 th . Dysentery are back to present a no filler album that is up there with all previous releases. Sometimes, we hear albums/Eps from bands, and you wish there was more time taken in recording the album, as a particular part feels missing. None of that here with Dejection Chrysalis . This a piece of music that has been worked on incredibly hard, and if you enjoy all things heavy, then this isn't to be passed by. TOMB SLAB (SLUDGE, REVIEW) - SELF TITLED (RELEASED JULY 17TH, ROAD TO MASOCHIST RECORDS)

Bog Land classic coming up here y'all! Tomb Slab embody the stench, muck, dirt, and pure stinky ass dirty unclean rivers of mud that flow through special areas of the swamp. They are hideously revolting and play a gut wrenching style of sludge with some doomy potions! The album is as disgusting as the time Bog had to use a nail file to remove the mould between his ball sack and thigh. Sometimes you have to use toilet paper to wipe it off, but it had dried a little too hard, so it was a fun day, but enough of the Bog mishap memoirs for now.  Bog is attempting the selector lens, but he may f*ck off into commentary mode whilst rolling around in bog water from pure excitement.  Tomb Slab are on the  Road To Masochist  roster along with fellow sickness sludge mongers  BLÜDWYRM .
