Kindred Strenchers, Siltiax of The Silt Móðurreiði stands here in our swamps and forest to tell of the sound of PTOLEMEA and her sacred songs from ages past.
1. Gaivota (Seagull) is a deep tradition from Portuguese Fado music. The longing, distance, and the great water. The words, some of which Siltiax can speak—I can recall one of the Iberian tongues, helping me listen to the song about the heart and the sea.
PTOLEMEA's sounds were heard throughout our swamps. We stopped to listen. To hear another's sacred tongue sing so beautifully. Profound, soulful, and pure. As her voice was carried by the winds: silence, reflection.
The song starts with only words, words singing, breathing, and maintaining powerful notes in her voice. Her ritual, trancelike cadence through beauty. We would wave our fire sticks slowly and dance the swamp steps, pausing to hear everything that was: the distant sounds of the waves, the gaivotas flying across the ocean.
Gaivota, if one listens with clean ears, it will speak to the spirits within us. Awakening and stirring the heart.
Bog told me the way this was recorded, the frequency was preserved to make the vocal words clean, strong, and impactful with a clean, final end to the track
2. Aqui, Ali, Acolá (Here, There, Over There) is a matter the tribe can understand. Our journey to come, the great march. We are here, we must go there, and further to yonder.
Acoustic strings begin with a serene rhythm, creating steps for the words to land. To share the story with those that would listen. I hasten you to do so, closely. Feel the words enter your mind. Uncorrupted, beautifully sung, and speaking of spiritual travels.
Bog said to me when he heard this music sing through our swamps, the recording has maintained the voice and strings, smoothly flowing to a close.
PTOLEMEA's music already has made me feel it can be a sonic friend on my journeys throughout our swamps, forests, fog, and bog lands.
3. Guilhotina (Guillotine) is a dark title, but it is magically sung to step with the strings' rhythm. The tribe listened closely as this track was sung in our lands. We commented on the string ability and the sliding across the scale.
The chorus line is enchanting, partnering well to sway and flow with the strings. The words are emphasized, clear to hear, as is their message.
The Silt Móðurreiði danced in time to the words and swung our fire staffs once more as the chorus hit our hearts, just like the other songs had touched us so.
Untainted, real, and nothing like the artificial sounds projected by The Gate.
4. Breathe. Another beautiful song with PTOLEMEA holding vocal notes to create the start for the strings to follow is powerful, and it introduces our ears to the themes and message.
The whisper of the trees, unfold your soul, and find your peace—Siltiax hopes her mud ears heard it correctly.
The words that I, my sisters, and our tribe are coming to understand. It is difficult not to be moved by the music and singing, which is again direct from PTOLEMEA's soul and is speaking to us.
Bog spoke to me nicely, reminding me not to forget to share the strength in the audio, vocals, strings, scale, and recording.
Breathe is perfect for meditation. The Antfarm Session is nothing short of serene, captivating, and has held my ears intently.
5. Kura (cure/healing) features shamanistic, ritualistic words for more meditation and reflection. Personal, introspective words for us to remember, confront memories, and strive for personal freedom.
As I sat listening closely, my heart felt PTOLEMEA's words clean my spiritual wounds and help me gather purpose to step forward with the tribe.
The singing locks the ears, and surges of choruses hold the attention of all listening. The strings surge at key moments, increasing the frequency of the notes and holding the rhythm in place, so we may step and dance together, or sit like I did for this track, in solitude, listening carefully.
The end of the song finishes cleanly with no muddy frequencies from the swamps.
6. Kali made my eyes blink when I sighted the title—the destroyer, but also said to destroy the ego, so rebirth and transformation can happen. Is PTOLEMEA singing to us to step away from the old self and welcome the dawn of the new? The
energy in her singing surges with more words I can hear about the heart and
always.
The delivery of the lyrics is powerful, with held notes, and they deliver the message to our ears with consistent clarity.
A somber, melancholy rhythm, but matching the title perfectly. The strings, scaling, are here again and run like a strong oak's roots.
Mood and atmosphere are throughout, and it has been a special experience for the tribe to hear PTOLEMEA's sounds.
Siltiax's Thoughts:
Music for the soul from the soul. The Antfarm Session carries the spirit in unspoiled purity with a profound, thoughtful heart, and special sounds to partner.
Siltiax bows to PTOLEMEA.
