(BOG REVIEW) "TOMBSTALKER" - "CHAOS MONOLITH" (DEATH METAL/CRUST PUNK/DEATH CRUST) (RELEASED SEPTEMBER 25TH, AWAKENING RECORDS)

Siltiax Ky Lichen here to share another hastened word scribe from Bog. Stencher kindred, he said his longer step words return soon with his mindful thoughts into rhythmic sounds. Trust in the great song, smash the gate.
Chaos Monolith: Patient builds, drops into abyssal rawness, and the riffs feel like chainguns themselves.
The vocals run like bullets of destruction from a space commander marshalling their troops to deep strike.
The transitions are tight with solid AF frequencies to complement the mixing and mastering.
This has the angry, machine-like precision of a Terran marine on the warpath.
Quickfire Selector Banger Takes:
1. Chaos Monolith - Sets the scene for the album with good builds, structure, riffs, patterns, and transitions to each section. Wets the maw and you will be foaming. 

2. Inexorable Slaughter - The hardcore influence is rife with crust-punk-influenced death metal partnered to it, and a vocalist to match. Perfect for hitting the tracks and whipping over dirt.
3. Fully Armed and Filthy - F*c-k-! Refreshing AF. Dudes have thought, "Yeah, let's draw from a wide arc to make the track crust punk AF with a death metal vocalist." A little black metal-ish near the end, then back to crust punk. More crust punk than death, but f*-c-k-!!!
4. Unto the Anvil of War - Chaos Legions! Glorious! Shit the pants, shit them hard! Solos, pace changes, and this is what death metal was built for. Four tracks in, not bored at all, and the Bog pants need changing again. The fade-out is smooth AF.
5. Warp Storm Imminent - The definitive death crust feel with a full blend and crossover. The riff da f*-c-k- intro! Dirty AF! A heavy amount of work has gone into Chaos Monolith both musically and with the themes, and it's headbanging AF.
6. Penitent Engine - This is a track Bog normally would break down much further, especially with the industrial electronic or synth sample, he thinks. Bog heard this instantly through his DJ headphones. This is super cool because it adds to the effect of what a Penitent Engine is, and it flowed mega because it added to the atmosphere and visuals stirred up in the mind. The whole track vibes like an extreme metal/punk stage play/show, and it's amped AF!
7. Iron Within Iron Without - More crust punk death metal, death crust badass hive gang specials. Good "swing-your-head-around" windmill track!
8. Eternal Enslavement - A banger to close out with a crusty onslaught and a little death metal. This is an all-out ride of drops and goes with the transitions, just like an MX gate. Blissful mosh fury.

Bog's Thoughts:

Standouts with Chaos Monolith include:
Riff notes, quick-fire drops to change pace, and smooth transitions within the workflow.
Sick drumming patterns that sync nicely with the guitars.
Vocals sound like Horus on a new heresy!
The low, mid, and high frequencies are tight, and they complement the audio.
Bog hasn't shit himself this much since he was given a mix featuring the sounds of golf. TOMBSTALKER created something special with Chaos Monolith. The influences, themes, and music are crafted to flow and match them. It shines, really shines. Bog would like to draw attention to the CD below. Look at the art.
The only bad: Bog wishes there were more time available at the moment to do a deep dive, where he would break down the tracks much more.

So Cold (Rising Phoenix)  is the first single from the forthcoming EP ' Purification ' due for release via Distortion Productions on November, 28th.  Amulet is a DC artist and So Cold (Rising Phoenix) is the synthpop incarnation of the darkwave rock track of the same name, and is a faster paced re-imagined version.  It has a contagious tempo with clear vocals that flow in and out with the melody. A very goth tone from what Bog could hear, which has been nicely laced on top of the beat. It's well composed, sectioned together strongly with the hook and transitions. Bog could hear the riffs in the background on an earlier part of the song, which was a good touch, and Bog assumed they are maybe from the original version of So Cold . We aren't too familiar with this style of music, or the artist, but Stephanie Stryker's vocals stand out. BLOOD HANDSOME: 'NOSTALGIA HOLD' (STRICT TEMPO, RELEASED SEPT 5TH, DARKWAVE/SYNTH, REVIEW)

Bog was due to write about Blood Handsome later on the schedule, but it was moved forward to feature something different from other underground music. Bog will be writing from the stance of what he hears, he doesn't know too much about this/or the particular style/scene, so disclaimer alert. Bog writes about what he hears, and how it makes him think/feel. Blood Handsome opens with Abandon,  which is an up tempo track with a beat that people can move/bounce too. Futuristic and feels ahead of its time, but also embodies the synth/goth influences, which Bog can hear. I guess dark synth with a little cyberpunk to a point that invokes the imagination to think of cyberpunk movies/novels, and generally space/planets, and all things in the not so distant future.  Abandon has a sinister/dark vibe, leaving the impression of robots dancing on a space station. TOMB SLAB (SLUDGE, REVIEW) - SELF TITLED (RELEASED JULY 17TH, ROAD TO MASOCHIST RECORDS)

Bog Land classic coming up here y'all! Tomb Slab embody the stench, muck, dirt, and pure stinky ass dirty unclean rivers of mud that flow through special areas of the swamp. They are hideously revolting and play a gut wrenching style of sludge with some doomy potions! The album is as disgusting as the time Bog had to use a nail file to remove the mould between his ball sack and thigh. Sometimes you have to use toilet paper to wipe it off, but it had dried a little too hard, so it was a fun day, but enough of the Bog mishap memoirs for now.  Bog is attempting the selector lens, but he may f*ck off into commentary mode whilst rolling around in bog water from pure excitement.  Tomb Slab are on the  Road To Masochist  roster along with fellow sickness sludge mongers  BLÜDWYRM .
